Mother Shipton's Cave- Tuesday 19th October 2021
Year 1 and 2 visited Mother Shipton's Cave as part of their history and geography learning. The children enjoyed a guided tour and explored the cave, petrifying well and the wishing well.
The children developed their knowledge of the local area and a significant person within it. They were also introduced to the idea that people are different (Mother Shipton looked different from others) but that is a good thing. Life would be boring if we were all the same! It was the perfect pre-teach for our PSHE topic of 'Celebrating Difference' and our Big Idea topic of 'Is the world fair?'
